Taking the Road Less Traveled

Instead of the usual coastal route, we opted for a journey through the heart of the country. This inland route allowed us to really immerse ourselves in the diverse landscapes and cultures of South Africa. Here are some of the highlights from our 4-stop journey (though we wouldn’t blame you if you squeezed it into 3 if you’re short on time!):

Bloemfontein: The “City of Roses” surprised us with its rich history, vibrant art scene, and stunning National Museum.
Graaff-Reinet: Stepping into this historical gem felt like stepping back in time. We wandered through the beautifully preserved Victorian architecture and soaked up the unique Karoo charm.
Franschhoek: The “Winelands” beckoned with its rolling vineyards and world-class wineries. We indulged in wine tastings, delectable meals, and breathtaking scenery.
Elgin Valley: This hidden gem offered a taste of paradise. Lush valleys, charming farm stalls, and breathtaking mountain views made for a truly unforgettable experience.
